The Blade Just Got Sharper - with Excalibur Pro

WR-G33DDC Graphical User Interface

"The Excalibur receiver is a top rate performer supported by excellent software and the spectrum displays are a superb bonus. The 16-bit analogue to digital converter results in unsurpassed strong signal performance and once again my league table of close-in dynamic range receiver performance has a new No. 1." -- Peter Hart, Radcom Magazine

"In my professional lifetime in communications electronics, I’ve never seen anything with such shortwave receiving and processing power at such a low price. In the time it took me to write this review, I have changed from a digital skeptic to a true believer. This is one amazing radio!" -- Bob Grove, Monitoring Times

"In performance terms the Excalibur sets new standards in several areas. It is the most sensitive SDR we have yet measured." -- John Nelson, WRTH

After all these (and many more) recent glowing reviews, you might have thought that with our earlier award-winning Excalibur receiver, we have already raised the bar high enough.

And indeed, the Excalibur will still long remain a receiver of choice for many applications, a standard by which others will be measured, and a continuous source of joy for many of our users.

But when you absolutely must have the very best of what today's leading edge of technology allows, when every extra dB of signal extracted from noise counts, when every extra MHz of recorded bandwidth matters, when your own impeccable standards demand laboratory precision combined with Formula One performance - then the Excalibur Pro is the right receiver for you.

In Excalibur Pro, we have doubled the instantaneous processing bandwidth from 2 to 4 MHz. We have added a low-noise preamplifier that can nearly double the already considerable sensitivity.

We have added configurable preselection filters (there are 119 combinations!) to cope with exceptionally difficult RF environments. We have extended the lower limit of the selectivity filter down to incredible 1 Hz. While at it, we have improved frequency stability five times, to 0.5 ppm. We have added new demodulation modes and a logger facility. And finally, as an icing on the cake, a full set of laboratory-grade test and measurement functions, including modulation depth and SINAD.

AND, we added the Pause button. The world's first shortwave receiver than can pause the audio while you are away. And more than just the audio; the entire demodulator spectrum.
