Overview
The WiNRADiO WR-CC1PPS-210e Coherence Clock & 1PPS Kit fulfils a dual role of a coherent clock generator and a 1PPS input interface. This makes it possible to easily couple multiple WR-G65DDCe receivers to form a coherent receiver group, as well as providing a 1PPS input for applications requiring time stamping or other similar applications.
WiNRADiO WR-CC1PPS-210e Coherence Clock & 1PPS Kit
The kit consists of a single Sampling clock generator unit, seventeen SMA coaxial cables (for distribution of the 210 MHz coherent sampling clock and for digital synchronization of the receivers) and other kit accessories. A detailed description of the kit can be found in the WR-G65DDCe Multichannel Coherent Application Guide.
The Sampling clock generator unit contains a high-stability low-phase noise 210 MHz local oscillator, power amplifier and power splitter with eight coherent outputs, which provides a coherent sampling clock for up to eight WR-G65DDCe receivers - which must have the ADC Clock Input Option (/CR) fitted. Two sampling clock generator units can be tied together to provide a coherent sampling clock for up to sixteen receivers. Moreover, multiple Sampling clock generator units can be cascaded to provide a coherent sampling clock for 100's of WR-G65DDCe receivers.
The passive output power splitter provides a very good passive (uncalibrated) output of the sampling clock; and the local oscillator provides very low phase noise. These features make the kit (together with the WR-G65DDCe receivers) ideal for professional applications such as the estimation of direction of arrival (DoA, DF), beam-forming, smart antennas and other application requiring coherent multichannel reception and processing of radio signals.
The WiNRADiO WR-CC1PPS-210e Coherence Clock & 1PPS Kit is especially suitable for use with the WiNRADiO WR-G65DDCe Excalibur Sigma receiver (WR-G65DDCe) - a top performance, direct-sampling, software-defined, wide-band, two-in-one HF/VHF receiver with a frequency range from 1 kHz to 88 MHz and 118 MHz to 190 MHz.
The coherent mode WR-G65DDCe receivers can all be connected to a single PC (normal mode of operation) or each receiver can be connected to its own separate dedicated computer (distributed mode), so called Extended Topology Configuration (ETC) allowing for implementation of advanced parallel computing algorithms for phase-coherent systems.
Physically, the Coherent clock generator unit of the kit installs alongside to up to eight WR-G65DDCe receivers, providing a versatile and flexible coherent multichannel receiver solution.
